Winner of multiple Tony, Outer Critics Circle, Oscar, Golden Globe, BAFTA, Dramatists Guild Awards!

Randall P. McMurphy, a charming rogue, contrives to serve a short sentence in an easy, airy mental institution rather than a tough prison work farm. This, he learns, was a mistake. He clashes with Nurse Ratched, the head nurse, almost immediately, but he soon takes over the yard and accomplishes what the medical profession has been unable to do for twelve years: he makes a presumed deaf and dumb Native American talk…he leads others out of introversion…he stages a revolt so that they can see the World Series on television…and he arranges a rollicking midight party with liquor and chippies. But the free and easy ride Mr. McMurphy engineers will come to a crashing halt, with dire consequences for our lovable hero, though his positive effect is felt by all.
